10 Quality Assurance/Tester Job Leads

Here are the IT job leads for Monday, August 10th, 2009.  These are all full-time positions, except for the last one, which is a contract listing. They are a mix of QA Manager, Senior QA/Tester, and regular worker bee job listings.  I found all of these on Monster, with one query, but also see the links for Dice, Snag-A-Job, and Yahoo! HotJobs to the right.   Next time I will concentrate on freelance listings.

1. Quality Assurance Engineer ‘Evaluates software by planning and executing performance and functional tests.’ Full-time employee, Harrisburg, PA. $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 year, with Generation Technologies.
2. Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer for Second Life Now this looks like a truly interesting position. ‘Second Life is the largest user-generated 3D virtual world on the Web, boasting an international population and thriving economy.​’ It’s full-time, with Linden Lab in Cambridge, MA.
3. Quality Assurance Engineer (Junior – Mid Level) Another solid job description, working with VisionCore applications on VMware ESX Servers. It’s in Buffalo Grove, IL, and it is as a fulltime employee.
4. Quality Assurance Inspector Located in Monroeville, PA, with Compunetix, Inc., this is a fulltime quality control job in the electronics manufacturing industry.
5. QA Analyst Fulltime position in San Antonio, TX working with Windows software solutions for secure information exchange. Salary DOE.
6. Senior Silktest QA Automation Engineer Fulltime employee position with Charles River Development in Burlington, MA, testing large scale C#-based financial software systems.
7. Quality Assurance/Safety Manager Fulltime employee, in Cleveland, MS, with PharMedium, you would supervise a staff of quality (control) personnel. A B.S. in Science or related field is preferred. Pay is based on experience.
8. QA Analyst Midlevel fulltime employee position in Glenview, IL or Marietta, GA, USA with Aon, testing risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage software. Salary not indicated.
9. QA Engineer Midlevel to Senior fulltime employee position in San Jose, CA with Lyris, Inc., ‘a successful on-demand marketing solutions company that develops applications for email list management and marketing.’ Please note the How to Apply instructions. The salary range is listed as ‘competitive’.
10. Testing/Senior Quality Assurance Analyst This person will be responsible for testing Java-based API’s and for writing PL/SQL and Java Programs. This is a temporary/contract position through KForce Technology Staffing, in Warren, NJ. The Job Reference Code is 1300~AQG~936963T1.

My review of available positions today reminded me of a couple of things.  First, it looks like your job search for any on-site work (fulltime, contract, or contract to perm) is going to need to be at least national in scope, if not international.  Second, you are going to have to be very, very persistent in demonstrating to hiring managers, both in companies and in staffing agencies, that you have what they need.  Slow down, write a cover letter, and rewrite or “tune up” your resume for each position, if necessary.  Tomorrow we will look at IT Technical Writer positions.
